If you have a website then you need to have visitors coming to that site. After all, what is the point of having a website if nobody sees it and a website certainly won't make any money if there are no visitors. Getting traffic to your website however can be difficult. One method for driving traffic to your website is to use the search engines to your advantage. If your website ranks high in the search engines then you can receive a lot of free traffic to your site. Let's take a look at how to create a website to gain free traffic.
First you want to choose your topic wisely and you can get ideas from magazines, television, books, newsletters and even from your competitors.
Once you have decided on your topic you will then need to do some keyword research to find what keywords and phrases people are searching for in the search engines. You do not want to only target the main keyword for your niche, but find some long tail keyword phrases that people are searching for.
You can use a free tool like Google Keyword Tool to find out how many searches a particular keyword phrase will get per month and this tool will also give you other keyword suggestions.
When you have found some good keywords that have a lot of searches every month you then want to study the competition for those keyword phrases. You can search the keyword phrase in Google and look at the top ten websites for that phrase. Try to choose keyword phrases with websites in the top ten that you think you can outrank. You can also look at the design of these websites and how they have created the sites and use that information as you decide how to set up your own website. You don't want to copy another website but you can get some ideas from other sites.
When you have chosen your keyword phrases you then need to start writing some articles and include your keyword phrases in the article. You can write an article for each keyword phrase that you found. If you like you can even add an affiliate link to promote a product or service relating to your niche. When you promote products and services in your niche just be careful that your articles are not too promotional, you want to be subtle and include a subtle link to your site.
Next you will build your website and add your articles to the site. Create a page for each keyword phrase that you are targeting. Remember when you create your site and your pages to try some techniques that your competitors are using.
Include your keywords within the title of your page, description and also include them in the ALT tags of the site. You can also use images in your article as this makes the article more interesting for your readers. An interesting website is one that will have return visitors.
For each keyword phrase that you researched you create a new page with a new article and you can then try to rank each page for its given keyword phrase. Use the same layout and method as the first page on your other pages including the keyword in the title, etc.
If you fill your website with good quality information then Google will index your site and rank it. The more quality content you add to your site the more the search engines will favor it.
Once you have content on your site you will need to spend some time promoting your site and building some backlinks to it. The search engines also favor websites that have good quality backlinks to it. All this hard work will give you high rankings over time and when your website starts to rank high you will begin to see a lot of free traffic.
It will take time for the search engines to rank your site high and the more work that you put into that site the better the ranking will be. When you put the effort into each page for those different keyword phrases then you can have a site that ranks highly for multiple keyword phrases which will increase the traffic quite a bit.

Having a way to consistently contact your customers is a big part of running a successful business online. The way this is usually done is through what is known as a follow up email autoresponder.
This is simply a tool that allows you to follow up with people who have shared their e-mail address with you. While there are many different autoresponder services available, they all have a few things in common.
1. A way to store contact information. This feature lies at the heart of any autoresponder. It is the database of all of the information you gather on your site for the purpose of sending out e-mail messages to people. A lot of businesses choose to only collect the person's name and e-mail address, but there is nothing stopping you from collecting their address, phone number and other information that is important to you. The follow up email autoresponder will then store all of this information for you so you can access it at any time. This is a necessary feature because it allows for the automation of sending messages by the autoresponder service.
2. Sending a series of preprogrammed messages. One of the greatest things about an autoresponder is that you only have to set up the messages once, if that is what you want to do. You compose the message, and then you tell the autoresponder at what intervals you want each message sent out. For example, your first message (Thank You! or Welcome message) would be sent out right away, your second and third message could be sent out the next day, your fourth through eighth messages can be sent out every three days, and so on. It doesn't matter when somebody subscribes to your e-mail lists, they will receive the first message based on when they sign up, and each additional message will arrive in their inbox at the interval you have chosen. It may sound a bit complicated but it really simplifies things once you get the hang of it.
3. Providing a web form. When auto responders were first released as a method of gathering information from your visitors, it was fairly common for the website owner to have to create the sign up form completely from scratch; this has changed. The follow up email autoresponder will give you a way to create a form to place on your website to capture the information you want to get from your sites visitors. You create the form on the autoresponder site, and then copy and paste the code and place it onto your website wherever you want it to be seen.
The follow up email autoresponder is an essential tool for running a profitable business online. Without it, you will have to rely on people to keep coming back to your website to see whatever updates, or new offers you have available. But within autoresponder you are, in effect, visiting them as often as you like. This is a much smarter way of doing things; it will save you both time and money, and help you to run more of your business on autopilot.

When you are first starting out in Internet marketing there is definitely a lot that you're going to have to learn. After you have a better idea of what exactly it is that you're going to sell and who the people are that you're selling it to, you will need to get your web content online and get as many people to see it as possible.
The main thing you need to do is make sure that you're getting the information from those people (such as their name and e-mail address), so you can contact them whenever you need to.
This is a much better option than trying to get them to come to your website time after time. Setting up an autoresponder is the absolute best way for you to keep marketing to people on a repeated basis, however, paid autoresponders can range anywhere from $9-$25 each month and that's just for the entry-level price; they can often cost much more than that especially if you have a large list. But the question still remains our free auto responders actually a good option?
Believe it or not, there is actually a lot of debate in the Internet marketing community as to which is better: free or paid autoresponders. Let's take a look at some of the pros and cons of each then once you see what the benefits are of each one you will have a better idea of whether or not free autoresponders are the best choice for you.
Of course, the best thing about a free autoresponder is that it does not cost you any money. That way you will really get up and running and be able to start collecting names that you can market to repeatedly. At least that is the way it is supposed to work...in theory.
The reality is that a free autoresponder often has a lot of problems associated with it. For example, they are free for a reason, and that is they will often attached their own advertising to every message you send out. If you are serious about being in business for yourself, then it does not make a lot of sense to come across as unprofessional by slapping on ads that you have no control over. And that is what it is really about controlling your own business in a way that looks professional.
Now on the other hand, you may not have a lot of money to start your business with, that is okay. It happens. There is one other thing to think about though. If you start out collecting names using free autoresponders, and then later decide to upgrade to a paid autoresponder or leave that company, you may not be able to transfer all of the names you have on your free list to your newly paid for list.
So, while free autoresponders sound like they might be a really great deal, the truth is that they come with a lot of problems. That does not mean you cannot overcome those problems, but you need to be aware of them before you do something that you may regret later.
Instead of thinking of paid autoresponders as a cost, try thinking of them as an investment in your business and your future. But if you really must, a free autoresponder is better than having no autoresponder at all.

Can you really make money?
The short answer is "yes" you can make money but learning to sell stuff on ebay is not without it's potential pitfalls. Just make sure you have a thorough understanding of the whole process before you jump in with both feet.
The biggest potential challenge you will face is having to pay the fees associated with listing an item for sale and than not selling that item. This is one of the worst scenarios since you will have money going out, but you won't have any coming in.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you will need an ongoing supply of things to sell. That can mean a lot of time spent going around to yard sales during the spring and summer months. Some people absolutely love that and for them, this aspect of the business is not a problem.

All of this market research will help you establish a winning strategy for choosing the best products to sell and the best prices to sell them at.
3. Many people love the dynamic and exciting business of sales on an auction site. You may just find that you don't even feel like you are running a business, it might just seem like you are having fun and making money.
If you want to sell stuff on ebay to make money just make sure that you take a little time and familiarize yourself with the whole process. The more knowledge you have going in the more likely that you will actually make money.

Getting inbound links to your site is one of the most important aspects of effective SEO (search engine optimization) practice. Link building tools can make your life a lot easier when you're trying to structure your website to make it favorable in the eyes of the search engines. Each tool offers different value but here are a few that can help you out.
Analysis tools can tell you how many links point to a specific page or domain and/or which anchor text is being used significantly or even too much. These types of tools can give you a quick, superficial look at the status of websites but you will need some others to peform a more in-depth analysis.
SearchStatus is a group of features offered in a single Firefox plugin. One great feature of LinkDiagnosis is that you can download the data it provides you as a csv file this is extremely useful. Keep in mind when using this tool that an analysis of a larger website will take more time. A small website may only take a few seconds but a more content/page filled site could take up to 30 minutes.
If you need even more detailed data, you might want to look for tools that demonstrate link building efforts, structures and/or a history of the website. This kind of information can be helpful when you are trying to optimize your own website or that of a competitor.
SEOmozs Linkscape and MajesticSEO attempt to create the most complete index possible of the web for SEO purposes. Linkscape is considered more user-friendly while Majestic gets you a wider range of data which can also be downloaded.
Xenus Link Sleuth is another excellent tool for on-site analysis. It acts as a search engine crawler and checks websites for broken links and displays a continuously updated list of URLs, which you can sort by different criteria. Link Sleuth is a good way to get a look at your own website and to evaluate your internal link structure as well. And you can run reports on websites that you are considering getting links from to see what holes they may have in their site that you could possibly fill.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most important skills that any Internet
marketer can develop. After all, you want people to be able to find your website when
they're performing a search on their favorite search engine.
By learning how to do SEO you increase your chances that they will find your website
instead of one of your competitors. One of the ways to boost your ranking is through internal
link building. Be careful though because there is a lot of misinformation about how to go
about it the right way.
When it comes to internal link building you need to make sure that you take care of three
things: in-context linking, site navigation and anchor text.
These are the links that are found within the main body of your website.
Typically, these will be embedded directly in the words on your page, in context. In other
words, as people are reading your site they may notice that they can click on the various
words or phrases.
To the visitor it seems quite seamless, but in reality you have planned it out to get the best
results from the placement of your internal link building. What the visitor will be clicking
on, in their mind, are relevant words and they will be seeking out additional information. But
you are setting it up so that those words are the keywords you are trying to rank for, and they
will go to where you want them to go.
In its simplest terms most people think of site navigation is how they get from one page to
another. So, they see a back arrow or a link to the homepage and it helps them move around
your site. While that is true, and it is very important to have good navigation, we are more
concerned with building links for SEO purposes. Search engines typically like to see at least
some basic pages on every site; the homepage, contact information, a privacy statement, and
other basic pages should all be linked to each other from every page on your site.
This is the text that appears instead of the link where people will be going. For example, a
visitor to your site may see the words "click here", but what they're really clicking on is a
link.
Now, if you are trying to rank for the phrase "click here" then that's fine, but chances are
you're trying to rank for a different keyword. So, never waste a link by using generic anchor
text when doing internal link building.
Let's say you have a website on painting houses; you could have the phrase "click here to get
a house painting quote", but only the words "house painting quote" would have the link
underneath them.
The idea is that you're trying to rank for the words house painting quote, so having those
links will alert the search engines to pay more attention to that text.

It's better to do this (1) when your blogs are relevant to each other and (2) when you have already been in contact with your potential link partner.
This is one of the best link building tips: Write an article on another site that allows guests. Just make sure that you add content to blogs that are higher ranked than yours.
Holding blog contests is a very effective way to drive traffic to your blog and increase your quantity of incoming links. How do you do this? You can actually promote your blog contest on a variety of blog contest promotion sites. You can even "bribe" contestants with extra entries if they write an article on their blog which links back to your article about the contest.

Network Marketing Terms Explained
The following are common Network Marketing Terms that you must know and understand:
Network Marketing and MLM (Multi Level Marketing)
MLM is similar to network marketing in that anyone you sponsor/sign-up to an opportunity becomes your 1st level member. Anyone your 1st level member sponsors becomes your 2nd level member, anyone your 2nd level member sponsors becomes your 3rd level member. And so on.
The difference between the two is that with MLM you only earn from enrolling new distributors/affiliates, with Network Marketing you can earn an income just from selling the products and earn from a combination of your sales and your downline's.
Downline
This is the network family tree of your sponsored members and their sponsored members and their sponsored members etc etc.
Upline
This is the family tree going backwards showing the person who sponsored you, then the person who sponsored them and so on.
Commission Plan or Pay Plan
The important factor with network marketing is the structure of commissions earned at each level of your downline. eg 10% of 1st level sales, 40% 2nd level sales and 10% 3rd level sales.
This will then be followed by various bonuses based on total sales volumes etc, such as 2% of total business sales divided among qualifying members.
BV
Bonus Value. A reference figure relating to the amount of sales made.
Commissions are paid based on BV. Think of BV as business volume where 1 BV point usually equates to just over $1 of sales.
Auto Ship
An insurance policy with added benefits. Commissions are usually only paid if
you meet minimum BV requirements.
So, if you don't sell enough product (or any at all) auto ship automatically orders the minimum requirement for you.
The reason for minimum order requirements is for both business and legal reasons - if you are not an active representative, you are not entitled to commissions (stops people from just promoting the opportunity and never selling or using any products)

you go through your account from time to time and delete unnecessary files.
Each web hosting company has their own policy about going over the disk space allocation
but it is safe to say that you will be charged for the extra space.
Often this penalty is much higher than regular rates for disk space so it is important to keep an eye on how much space you are using and if you are approaching the limit, either purchase more space or delete some files. Most sites need less than 10 Million Bytes of
web space.

Test them out by emailing them at midnight and on Saturday nights, Sunday mornings, etc.
Notice how long it takes for them to respond to you and rather or not they have answered
your questions or concerns correctly.

2) MLM Cyclers
Usually your first steps into MLM. These are the ones to be very careful with.
Consider these as Network Marketing for beginners. You pay one initial sign-up fee which should actually buy you something (if it doesn't it may well be a scam).
When you have signed-up a fixed number of new people you get a payout, some more product and re-entry into the system (hence a cycle).
These are the cheapest way to get involved in an MLM Business Opportunity. The only flaw with these systems is that because nobody is buying a regular BV, commissions are only generated from new sign-ups.
And you will need more sign-ups every time you cycle. And don't expect most cycler programs to still be around in 5 years time!
These are not recommended.
3) Affiliate Programs
